What is this dental process?
It is the installation of artificial teeth that we perform to replace those that the patient lost, or to restore broken teeth and treat their roots. The installation of artificial teeth has two types: fixed and removable, and the patient’s condition is what determines the type that will be used. For example, fixed dentures are used if the number of extracted teeth is small (one or two), but if the number of extracted teeth is large (3 or more), or molars are extracted to the end of the jaw, removable dentures are used. Types of dental implants There are two types of dental implants, learn about them:
1. Fixed installations These are the structures that are installed in the mouth and cannot be removed except with the help of a doctor.
They consist of several forms:
Crowns: They cover or cover a damaged tooth or molar with the aim of restoring it and ensuring its survival for as long as possible.
Fixed bridges: They compensate for the loss of one or more molars by attaching the bridge with special medical materials and attaching it to the jaw. This is done with the help of the teeth adjacent to the extracted tooth, as they are filed and reduced, and they are required to be strong in order to be able to withstand the pressure that will be placed on them.
2. Moving prosthesis:
These are those fixtures that the patient can remove from his mouth and move. They consist of a metal base and artificial gums are placed on top of them. They are used to compensate for the deficiency of all or part of the teeth. Or they consist of a fibrillating material that depends for its stability on close contact with the gums and requires special attention. It is one of the most important types. Installation of the following removable artificial teeth:
Removable partial dentures: They are made of acrylic, where the doctor plans the desired shape and delivers it to the laboratory with the sizes required to implement it. They are used to compensate for the loss of some jaw teeth, and they are also characterized by their ability to conduct heat and cold. Removable complete dentures: The aim of their use is to protect the jaw bones from dissolving over time, and they are used to replace an entire dental jaw or both jaws, as there is a complete denture for the lower and upper jaw. Benefits of installing artificial teeth There are many benefits and features that can be included in the process of installing artificial teeth:
1. Benefits of fixed prosthesis Here are the most important features of fixed prosthesis: Improves the shape of the smile and facial features. It helps the patient regain self-confidence and feel comfortable and stable. It preserves the remaining natural teeth in the mouth by preventing them from passive movement. Improves the patient's ability to chew food.
2. Benefits of removable prosthesis As for the advantages of removable prosthesis structures, they are as follows:
An ideal solution to replace missing teeth for the elderly or those suffering from weak gums or osteoporosis. It is resorted to when the teeth adjacent to the tooth to be replaced are completely worn out and cannot be relied upon. There is no need for anesthesia and is suitable in some medical cases that do not accept anesthesia.
